Here's a post from The New York Times regarding the music industry. Shows more of the sordid side of things. I was never in favor of what is really stealing music over the Internet, made famous by the peer-to-peer file sharing technologies. But I sympathize. There is no price competition for CDs. I'm now beginning to read in places like Inforworld about how Sony BMG is putting file protection in its music CDs to prevent us from loading into our iPods. Meanwhile the profits for companies and performs reach astronomical proportions. Something's got to be done.
Search out and play new music from the Web. That's the best way. But that goes against the grain of world culture right now, driven by the need to identify with the groups liked by our peers. Me? I just don't buy that much. Maybe a few tunes from iTunes.
