NEC develops razor-thin battery. Engineers at NEC have developed a flexible battery that is less than a millimeter thick and can be charged in half a minute, the company said. The battery was been designed for use in applications such as active RFID cards. [Computerworld News]

To me the most telling comment in the story is this note about leadership:

Mr. Buckley's selection "is part of a larger shift, away from a simplistic view of leadership that could be transferred rather than developed."

Amen. Studies I've seen indicate that the star CEOs with the huge egos to match seldom leave behind a company poised for long term growth and success.
