Yesterday was a travel day to Chicago coupled with a visit to my office and preparations for today's first Packaging Automation Forum. Those trips are always hectic, filled with meetings and long--but yesterday was especially long. We had an opening registration/hospitality time for the Forum. Then instead of being a good boy and going Home to work, I let Andy Urda of Yaskawa talk me into dinner at Gibsons in Rosemont at 8:30. Came dragging into my daughter's apartment about 11:30 pm. Nice dinner with some people from Yaskawa, Motoman (a robotic company owned by Yaskawa) and a couple of guys from Appleton Paper. There must have been three other tables filled with people in town for the Forum. This event is a joint endeavor of Automation World and Packaging World magazines--our first attempt. And it is wildly successful. Great presentations and sold out venue! I'll blog some information tomorrow and hope to get some photos up on my Flickr account.
