Thanks to Guy Kawasaki, I discovered a new blog. It features zen principles of technology. One principle is simplicity. This post of Valley Zen discusses the training and work involved in achieving simplicity--such as the work that went behind the development of the simplicity of Google's algorithms. Or, as I used to tell on boss of mine, Steve J and Steve W weren't millionaires overnight from their garage. It took years of background education and experience, not to mention trial and error, to develop the successful Apple II and then the Mac.
