I'm starting to hear more about parallel processing with the new multicore processors. Here's a Slashdot thread. Phil Windley also touches on the subject in his CTO roundtable podcast at Technometria. Interesting that this was a big topic at the last NI Week at National Instruments last August. Seems that LabView inherently supports parallel processing and NI is working with multicore chip manufacturers. This is a computing development to watch.

Here's another InfoWorld article about Waste Management suing SAP regarding an implementation gone wrong. Let this be a lesson about promises when trying to make the sale.

I haven't spent any time learning AJAX (asynchronous java and xml, except as the article states, xml isn't required). This article in InfoWorld gives a few tips mostly from the network administrator's side of things. Interesting introduction. I have heard comments on blogs and podcasts where there is an occasional disparaging comment about how this technology can screw up a Web site. Any thoughts out there? Anyone using it for HMI or other manufacturing uses?
