The people over at the Emerson Life Sciences blog have a post on Process Analytical Technologies. For a while, this term generated huge buzz at the pharma gathering--Interphex. The buzz has worn away, but the technology and direction from the FDA still hold promise.

GigaOm has a post about 5 Lessons Entrepreneurs Can Learn from Craig Barrett, Intel's former CEO. Hint, invest in a downturn and have good competitors.

Web Worker Daily has a post listing five healthy mid-afternoon snacks. Go for the popcorn--and fruits and berries, nuts, yogurt.

Still on health, the online education data base lists 100 ways to keep your mind health and fit. No stinkin' little 5 point lists for them. I know you'll all rush to number 87, but there are many good ideas to incorporate into your daily routine, too.

Meanwhile Jeremiah Owyang offers reasons why hotels shouldn't charge us for Internet access. (I just caved in and got a cellular modem. It saves money in the long run.)

And finally from my favorite--ZenHabits--A Simple Guide to keeping your counters clutter free (works for desks too--well, maybe).

In the world of "operations performance management," an application segment that encompasses manufacturing but includes many more enterprise types, analytics can be slow or cumbersome and the ability to drill down from key performance indicators for real-time data is not as advanced as in typical manufacturing software, myDials, a Lafayette, Colo. supplier, has introduced a product with "Every Person Analytics."

myDIALS calls its version 3.0, "the first operational performance optimization solution that delivers 'every person analytics,' including real-time scenario analysis." Building on its Software as a Service (SaaS) dashboards, myDIALS 3.0 provides all users with advanced interactive performance analysis capabilities, right-time actionable metrics and intuitive context setting including dynamic time control.

The analytics module features sophisticated mathematical charting capabilities, including trend lines, forecast projections with error ranges, control charts and Pareto charts that can be used to characterize the nature of a performance problem.

It enables users to determine the root cause of performance issues by allowing  decision makers to drill directly into Key Performance Drivers (KPDs), view the relationship between KPIs and their underlying KPDs, and take action based on those specific metrics.

myDIALS 3.0 provides a unique, dynamic time control for users to put the entire dashboard into a time context and quickly obtain the big picture overview of performance trends, as well as the level of detail required to determine an issueâo[dot accent]s root cause. Users can "zoom in" or "zoom out" along the time hierarchy (from months to weeks or days; or from months to quarters or years), view period over period comparisons, or select a specific time period of interest, e.g. "May 2009."
