100,000 Feet [posted by Troy] Our regular readers are aware of the ongoing contest between Josh and Chad to see who can accumulate the most feet above sea level by summiting (used losely in some states) the most state high points before they are 40 years old. Within the last two weeks, Josh has hit Ohio, Tennessee, New Mexico, and some other state that slips my mind right now. These states push Josh over 100,000 feet and give him 40% of the total high points that are in play (these are unofficial numbers until the judge sees official documentation). The climbing world is now left to ask the key question: Where is Chad in all of this? At last count, Chad had a paltry 52,000 feet. Josh has almost doubled Chad's score. This leaves two options: 1) Chad will get his ass in gear and catch up with Josh. 2) Chad will give up and start to find ways to call off the bet, so that he doesn't have to pay up.

Slurpee Break [posted by Troy] Today's is 711's anniversary (7th month, 11th day), and they were giving away free Slurpees. Unfortunately, I didn't get outside to get one, so I'll have to pay for mine tomorrow.

Chicago's Lee & Buehrle [posted by Troy] Yahoo had this article from the AP about tomorrow's all star game, and the crop of new guys who are on the squads. Some of the past all stars are missing (like Sosa) and have been replaced by new faces (like Lee). Is this the next crop of baseball greats?
