Cognitive and Social Psychology [posted by Troy] The next time you hear something new or something with which you disagree, think about this. A person's beliefs strongly influence a person's perceptions. I have been doing a ton of reading in the cognitive and social phychology research exploring the nature of belief. This is one of my directions in my dissertation. Anyway, most of the research shows that people get hit with tons of information each day, and most people use their own beliefs as a way to filter out what they remember or what they listen to. Most people will claim to be critical thinkers, but the research shows that this is not the case. By the time we adults, it is very difficult to change beliefs, because people will disregard information that conflicts with their beliefs, even if this information is very sound scientifically.

Intended to be public? Well, they are. [from LISNews.com] The creators of this site have searches out tons of Web cams. It's not clear of the owners of these cameras wanted the world to see through them, but whether they intended it or not, these are very public. Don't worry, these do not involve nudity.
