Good Old Walmart Healthcare, environment, economy [posted by Troy] Well, as always, Walmart is part of American life. This Mother Jones post, Walmart's strategy, highlights some of what they are doing. If Mother Jones is too biased for you, take a look at this Reuters story about Walmart's cost cutting. To be fair, you may want to read this speech entitles 21st Century Leadership on Walmarts Web site. Ticker Tape Anachronism [posted by Troy] So, I hear that you can buy real White Sox ticker tape from last week's ticker tape parade. I think it is interesting that we hold ticker tape parades at all anymore. Ticker tape has become a symbol of vitory and celebration. The reason they used to have ticker tape parades is because all of the businesses in downtown areas had real tickers and ticker tape lying all around.
