Here's a quote: Déjà vu is a French term that literally means "already seen" and has several variations, including déjà vecu, already experienced; déjà senti, already thought; and déjà visite, already visited. Immigrants' March Too Painless [posted by Troy] In the old days, there were riots in the streets of Chicago when protesters dared to walk the streets. In the words of the honorable Richard J. Daley, "The police are not here to create disorder, they're here to preserve disorder." Well, evidently, things have changed. The Chicago cops are so good at handling demonstrations that most of us didn't even know that it was going on. Both the SunTimes and Tribune (Play By Play account) offer descriptions of the day's events, but it was considerably quiet...or as quiet as 500,000 people walking down the street at the same time might be. I figured that I'd hit big time traffic when I picked up Kim from work, but traffic was actually great.
