This is Cool [posted by ZelderBar] So, famous Chicago author Studs Terkel and other Chicagoans filed suit against AT&T for giving the whole wire tapping thing. I am a fan of Studs. He is a Chicago icon, and this whole thing just makes me smile. Here's a quote from the ACLU Web site about it:In addition to Mr. Terkel, the other plaintiffs in the case filed in federal district court in Chicago today include: Barbara Flynn Currie, Majority Leader of the Illinois House of Representatives; Rabbi Gary Gerson of Oak Park Temple; Professor Diane Geraghty, Director of the Civitas ChildLaw Center at Loyola University School of Law, Chicago; James Montgomery, former Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago; and, Dr. Quinten Young, a physician and advocate for health care reform. "Having been blacklisted from working in television during the McCarthy era, I know the harm of government using private corporations to intrude into the lives of innocent Americans," said Terkel. "When government uses the telephone companies to create massive databases of all our phone calls it has gone too far." Click here to read press release on ACLU Web site

Yahoo [posted by Troy] This post about dinner or supper from 2004 is one of our most found postings on the Internet. It comes up 7th in Yahoo's search, and we see several referers each week coming from that search engine. That's kind of random.

Graham [posted by ZelderBar] On yesterday's Meet the Press Senator Lindsey Graham (R South Carolina) delineated the practical, smart view on the immigration. Basically, the Republican party is on the verge alienating itself from the fastest growing voting block in the US. There are kids surving in Iraq whose parents were illegals. You can't send them home. You can't adequately protect the border. So, all you stand to do is push the Latino vote to the Democrats. Smart politics.
