One Chicago [posted by Troy]
Chicago has announced its latest one book one city selection, Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri. I bring this up, because I am not familiar with this book. Thought our readers might know it. Our library has 1984 as our one book for this year. I am running the program as I have for the past few years.

Interesting Twist [posted by Troy]
Here's an interesting thang, Starbucks workers are attempting to unionize. Now, Starbucks has long been recognized as a place that treats workers well, which is why you can go there and get what you ordered (unlike my last two trips to McDonalds for breakfast over the last 8 months). The trouble is, what happens when you have workers that actually stay at a service job, but they can't live at it. The company works to encourage good workers and good workers want good pay. Is this a market demand by the workers?
