Conventional Medicine Uses Alternative Medicine - Grudgingly... European Cancer Patients Using Alternative Therapy A recently published study done by the University of Manchester in England shows that Complementary and Alternative therapies are popular in Europe too - and acknowledges that the use of these therapies may be even higher in the U.S. Will this lead to increased regulation and red tape? I'm betting it will, judging by this statement: "Since it appears that CAM is here to stay, the European Union needs to consider broader policies, common laws and rationalization of available legislation,"  It is no secret that the European medical and pharmaceutical industry is somewhat hostile toward Alternative Medicine and wants to control it, and no secret that our own FDA, the lapdog of the Pharmaceutical Industry, would likewise control and even eliminate the competition that Alternative Medicine, Complementary Therapies and dietary supplements, vitamins and herbs pose to Big Medicine and Big Pharmacy in this country.
