Autism is increasing at an alarming rate in the US, and several studies have suggested that mercury toxicity (including that contained in vaccines), may be to blame. This "unusual" press conference is, well, unusual.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Federal health officials affirmed the safety of vaccines on Tuesday in an unusual news conference called to counter a growing movement alleging that vaccines can cause autism.
Stay tuned. I think there's more to this story than meets the eye.
And whether or not the cause is mercury, it certainly looks to be something toxic in the environment. Either way, the thought is worrisome.
