Study: Money Sways Federal Drug Voting
What a surprise, huh? Of course, drug companies doing their own research and presenting it to the FDA for approval has always seemed like the fox guarding the hen-house to me. Now a comsumer group has threatened to sue the FDA for failing to reveal conflicts of interest and monetary gains connected with "FDA Approval."
This, in part, helps explain how so many "FDA Approved" drugs are never-the-less pulled from the market, or should be pulled, because they have been found to cause lethal side effects.
Amusingly, these dirty bedfellows of Big Pharmacy and FDA are the same folks who want to force nutritional supplements and herbs through the same quasi-legitimate process that drugs go through. This looks to me like just a way to prevent us from keeping ourselves healthy, thereby ensuring a continued, brisk market for deadly drugs.
At least that's how it looks from where I sit.
