Addicted to AntiDepressants

Hmmm... the Big Pharma Companies must be doing a happy little profit-dance here: they have millions of people "hooked" on antidepressant drugs that they have managed to get the FDA to declare to be "technically non-addictive" despite the reports of many who are unable to stop the drugs because of symptoms of withdrawal. It seems the Europeans are a little more frank about it - they acknowledge that the stopping of these drugs can lead to withdrawal.

Here is a better option: instead of "shotgunning" the brain with a chemical that prevents the normal cycle of usage of the natural brain chemical serotonin, and makes it "recycle" what little it has available, why not provide the body with the raw materials it needs to produce corrective and appropriate amounts of good, natural serotonin? Then, why not test the levels of the brain's neurotransmitters and determine just what really is out-of-balance. A Neurotransmitter Test is easy (no needles, it requires a urine specimen!) and will allow a good naturopathic doctor to make specific and highly effective corrective, drug-free recommendations.

Many of our patients have been both surprised and delighted to learn that they don't, and probably never did need SSRI type drugs, just corrective nutritional supplementation! Depression is no laughing matter (well Duh!) but the way mainstream medicine and Big Pharma treat it is laughable and another example of band-aid symptom control through the use of addictive chemicals instead of a scientific search for the cause of the problem and a proper correction through more natural means. Worried about needing to take SSRI's  for the rest of your days? Contact us - we can help!
