In the August 2005 Issue of Wired Magazine, an editorial intern, Suzanne Wu, claims that I am a Microsoft "shill".
Interesting word, "shill", which means: "...an associate of a person selling a good or service, who pretends no association and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage other potential customers, unaware of the set-up, to purchase said good or service."
In the very first podcast from SoftwareLand I made it clear that I work for Microsoft and that this podcast has nothing to do, whatsoever, with Microsoft. Therefore, it's hard to say that I "pretend no association".
It is also interesting to observe the imagery of this piece including the word "ADVERTISING" on the upper left which led many people to think, at first, that this was an advertisement, maybe even from Apple.
