Hurricane Help. . .
Wichita Rutherford is asking podcasters to create short podcasts to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. "Why don't we do this as the podcasting community. Let's all do 2 to 3 minute podcasts that will inspire people to give to the Red Cross or food banks or whatever organization they choose to help these folks who are gonna be without food, water, shelter, clothing, medicine and Lord knows what all else," suggests Rutherford.
I encourage everyone to donate to help those affected by this natural disaster.
Free music for podcasts. . .
Without the guilt. Magnatune http://magnatune.com a record label whose tag line is We Are Not Evil says they are applying the shareware model applied to music. They have posted 373 complete MP3 albums under a Creative Commons License.
They have extended this to allow anyone to include this music in a podcast as long as they include a piece of text and a hyperlink in the blog portion of the podcast.
Here's an example:
"Songname" by "Artistname"

C'mon record labels, get with the program, Magnatune gets it, we want to listen before we buy and when we can, we will buy.
