Seattle. . .is a great place for Podcasters. . .
Last night the Seattle Podcasters Network (www.seattlepodcasting.net) meetup was hosted at Microsoft Studios, the in-house TV/audio studio that's located on the Microsoft campus (created in-part by the MSNBC joint venture).
There were 38 people in attendance and it was a blast.
The Schockow Brothers (who create the DVDWeekly Podcast available online and on Sirius Satellite Radio) recorded a portion of their program with the live Studio audience and Chris Pirillo gave an ad hoc talk about podcasting in 2006 and his opinion of the fermented beverages served at the event.
Mixing it up. . .
Part of my "day" job at Microsoft is to be a "professional" podcaster. I started the first podcast show on the Channel9 (http://channel9.msdn.com) website last June and now I'm about to start a new of new shows. The first new show is a rebirth of the podcast show I called the "buzzcast" which was a countdown to a Microsoft event. The original buzzcast was to talk about the Microsoft Professional Developer's conference. The new buzzcast is leading up to the Mix06 show (www.mix06.com) scheduled for March 20th in Las Vegas.
Podcast of the day. . .
Geography for Travellers

Here's a podcast that talks about the actual Earth (as opposed to the man-made structures) that you'll see outside when you travel the world.
And that's your Manic Minute for January 11th, 2006!
