The Daily Static. . .
As I talked about in the Manic Minute for February 2nd, 2006, the web is taking over the comic strip business. One of my favorites (and now Scoble's http://scobleizer.wordpress.com/2006/03/06/fun-comic-and-tray-games/
as well) for the past 6 or 7 years has been The Daily Static http://www.userfriendly.org/static/ put out by UserFriendly.org. Illiad and the gang do a 7-days-a-week bang-up job of lampooning the computer biz and have lately taken on the blogosphere. Check it out
Online Storage. . .
The debate about whether and how much information you should store in the cloud and what the cloud storage owners will do with that information is raging on the TechCrunch http://www.techcrunch.com/2006/03/06/google-drive-what-we-know-so-far/, Box.net http://blog.box.net/?p=21 and ScriptingNews http://scripting.wordpress.com/2006/03/05/scripting-news-for-362006/#comment-2170 blogs. Regardless of whether it's Google, Box.Net, or even Microsoft, I guess I'm just not that trusting to put personal information, especially aggregated personal information, on someone elses machine. It's even hard for me to sign up for automatic bill pay knowing what might happen when even a trusted provider loses your data like The Boston Globe did in January http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2006/01/31/globe_and_worcester_tg_customer_credit_info_mistakenly_released/?p1=MEWell_Pos2
