- Microsoft Loses Key Windows Architect to Google
-
One of Microsoft's key Windows architects has defected to Google. But at least so far, no one is talking about what Marc Lucovsky's new role will be at one of Microsoft's major rivals.
A 16-year Microsoft veteran, Lucovsky was one of a handful of "Distinguished Engineers" at Microsoft. He is credited as one of the core dozen engineers that came from Digital Equipment Corp. to Microsoft and built the Windows NT operating system. He was charged with building the Windows NT executive, kernel, Win32 run-time and other key elements of the operating system. NT was the precursor to Windows Server.

Alex Kayhill from Mac360 has written an interesting piece entitled:
Misinformation In A Microsoft World. Apple's Uphill Road.
Where he disusses some all too common misconceptions about the Macintosh platform from Windows users. The longer I live on this planet and deal with normal, everyday human beings, the more I belive that most people are far better served by their cheap PC running Windows and all that entails. No more you could argue which toaster is better with me, (I really don't care) - to the kind of people Alex is talking about in his article, the computer is just a tool - plain and simple with cost being the single most important factor. For those folks, please, never buy a Macintosh - we'll all be happier that way.
