In the year 2014, The New York Times has gone offline

So this made the rounds a month or so ago and I had intended to post about it back then but for whatever reason that didn't happen.

This is a great Flash movie entitled: In the year 2014, The New York Times has gone offline which is futuristic view of what the Internet and the global media landscape might look like less than ten years from now. This would be really humorous and we'd all get a good laugh if there wasn't a little too much truth built into it. Judging alone by all the things that have happened in the last 4 1/2 years that we once would have thought impossible - who knows just how much of this video might become reality. Let's sure hope not - otherwise, it's 1984 all over again.

How Firefox Works

From the good folks over at How Stuff Works comes an interesting piece by Ed Grabianowski entitled How Firefox Works which is a fairly in-depth article about the inner workings of the open source browser.

Regardless of your technical background, there is definitely some material in this article that you had no idea even existing, many of which are some really good tips on using the Internet in some quite ingenious ways. Definitely worth the read.
