A picture named 20050315.jpg

Ever since being bitten by the web standards bug a few years ago - it's really changed literally every aspect of how I design web applications. To that end, it became important that have the right tools for the job and one of the primary tools that I use these days is WestCiv's Style Master - THE best CSS editor out there and this new version 4.0 brings some fairly major changes to the application. This is probably not the best tool for the faint of heart but once you've invested the time to learn how everything comes together, it's well worth the effort.

In addition, WestCiv also offers the Complete CSS Guide which is a fantastic resource for anyone interesting in learning how CSS really works and how to do truly useful things with it. WestCiv also offers some good online courses as well and of course like a good citizens, they also maintain an active blog.

In case you were curious, some other tools in my colophon include:

Obviously this is far from all inclusive but it covers the majority of the tools used to create most web applications.
WestCiv will also be presenting at The 2005 South by South West Web Awards which took place two days ago. There is video footage (among other things) on the SXSW site. There was a lot of interesting folks in attendance this year and I've enjoyed listening to the show covereage provided as a series of Podcasts by Chris Pirillo on his show over the last couple days.
