The Outsider: why high school never ends --

All this talk about being "in" or "out" reminded me of the social dynamics of educational systems. I remembered a conversation I had with one of my high school teachers when I was feeling lonely and rejected. This teacher told me that the popular kids were just as miserable as I was. I didn't believe him. How could those girls who had it all be unhappy? They certainly seemed content with their cute clothes and cute guys. And I wouldn't be miserable any more if I could trade places with them. Or so I thought at sixteen.
This thing goes all over the map. I don't know where to start, just read it.

Giving Microsoft the Boot

Extreme Tech has a post up about life without Microsoft.

It's a fairly real world story about what's really involved for those brave enough (yours truly included) to live a computing life sans Microsoft. All the pros & cons of what it's really like to take the road less traveled. If you've already switched, much of this is common sense knowledge to you, but if you are considering a switch - give the article a read, it certainly covers somethings you've not previously considered.
