Dec 16 2004 By Bill Mcguirk, The Evening Chronicle -
Johanna Jackson is forever on the move.
On Saturday, the Middlesbrough teenager triumphed for the first time in the North Eastern Cross-Country Championships, winning the under-20 title.
Twenty-four hours later she swapped her spikes for walking shoes to compete in the hilly Bradford to Ilkley eight-mile walking race.
The 19-year-old has been running for some years now and only a couple of weeks ago was competing for the North of England in a cross-country race in Ghent, Belgium, while walking has only been on the agenda for the last two years.
However, in those two years, despite lacking competition in this neck of the woods, Jackson has climbed into the top six walkers in the country.
And it's to this section of the sport she sees her future lying.
