Paul goes up to London to visit the Queen

Paul Nihill called to let me know that the Royal British Olympic Association reception at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 23 March was a good do...

Among the former Olympians there in addition to Paul were race walking greats Stan Vickers, Ken Matthews and Don Thompson.

'It was nice to to see them all, especially Stan', said Paul 'as he hasn[base ']t been well.'

Other athletes at the palace were Seb Coe, Steve Cram, Alan Pascoe, Sally Gunnell and steve Redgrave. 'The oldest old Olympian competed in swimming in the 1928 Amsterdam Games!'
