UK Athletics - 30 Mar 2005 12:11 - 'The 6th EAA Royal Leamington Spa Grand Prix of Race Walking will take place on Saturday 16 April in Victoria Park, Leamington. This year, the IAAF has designated the event as an official qualifying race for the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki.'
'This will provide British athletes with the chance to qualify for the World Championships on home soil rather than being forced to find races abroad. The event has already attracted high quality entries from Ireland, Hungary, Belgium and France.'
'British walkers will also be able to stake their claim for a place in the Norwich Union Great Britain and Northern Ireland Team for the EAA European Cup of Race Walking in Miskolc, Hungary on 21 May and ultimately achieve the qualifying time for the Commonwealth Games, next year.'
