This apparently is not necessary (and would also conflict with previous history - Ronald Weigel previously did the job). Open Invitation Meeting Saturday 5th March Still sorting through all the photos taken from sunny Isle of Man - yes I came back with something of a tan! Lots of material to cover (results for the races are on the Manx Harriers site) the main thing to mention though was the friendliness of the Manx men and women! They say the appreciate people coming over since they know how difficult it is to travel there. But, as Olive Loughnane described it, flights are to 'a real in-and-out airport'. Forty plus walkers and families filled La Piazza Italian restaurant on the Saturday night where tales were told of the Parish Walk that dominates the sport in the Ireland. True to form on the way back to the airport there were indeed race walkers not recognised by me before out training up the steep road from Douglas. I recorded Andi Drake's presentation the morning after the races - which I'm listening to as I type. I'll edit to take out some of the noises off from the boy's hockey game going on outside the Manx Harriers club house. 11:34:37 PM     comment []
