IOM Online - THE 800-metre lap of the National Sports Centre roadway in Douglas should once again be the setting for some world class race walking action on Saturday when Manx Harriers hosts its annual open meet.
The programme for walking races is for juniors, locals and the visiting stars plus a 10 km running race which has attracted a large field of local men and women.
The action begins at 10am with a junior one-mile race over two laps of the roadway. The line-up is without national age group champion Lauren Whelan as she is off-Island competing in the Inter-Counties cross-country championships, but the line-up will include some very impressive young walkers.
