The PDC isn't the only show going on in October, DigitalID World has posted its schedule.
Microsoft Monitor Weblog: Secrets of Microsoft's success, part I
Corel's new Grafigo 2 is getting raves from the Tablet PC crowd.
Tarun Padhyay: Why Apple is cool and Tablet PC is not
Someone asked me "will the PDC have wireless?" Yes, it will, but if all 5000 attendees try to get on during the keynote...
Let's just say there are limits on WiFi spectrum and one room just can't support that many at one time. But, we are gonna do our best to keep everyone's wireless going. Definitely bring your computers. From what I hear we will even have some seats with power outlets.
Shawn at Text America tells me there's a "protest moblog" starting about RFID. I don't agree with the cause. I wanna put RFIDs into everything I own. Heck, I carry my Microsoft badge everywhere I go. I am suprised that Microsoft's company store doesn't sell door locks that work with our badges. Now that would be cool!
Doc Searls is gonna be in Seattle this week. Doc, we must do dinner!
I was snooping around the secret Longhorn sites on campus and learned that compiling Longhorn takes 14 hours. They start at 5 p.m. and it's ready at 7 a.m.
New York Times Travel: Salty breezes. Great views. This is mass transit? (Look at San Juan Islands, which are a couple of hours from Seattle by ferry)
Ross Mayfield: the September that never began (about AOL and its blocking of Live Journal's referers).
Don also talks about the new microsoft.com and msdn.com search engine.
Don Box has a link to Mike Vernal's site where he explains what a program manager (PM) is.
Kent Sharkey looks at the stats of the microsoft.com/asp.net server.
Don Browning says that Turner Broadcasting has three webloggers.
Christian Science Monitor: Keep libraries alive, check out a book
Christian Science Monitor: death penalty mistakes
Chris Sells is asking for resources to link to on MSDN's Longhorn Dev Center.
Nelson Minar: "network address translation is the bane of P2P."
Russell Beattie continues his anti-Microsoft stance in "why Microsoft is evil."
Wired News: Seybold (publishing show) scales way, way back
Microsoft Watch's Mary Jo Foley: Windows: The Next Round
ZDNet's David Coursey: Why pen computing could put you out of business
InfoWorld: Hackers jump through holes in Microsoft patch.
I didn't know that top VB'er Bill Storage did the Examsoft testing service (colleges use it to administer exams). If testing doesn't float your boat, check out Bill's railroad pictures (taken at a California's top railroad museums).
I wasn't sure what I was going to write about tonight, but NewsForge came through for me. They looked at a map of Microsoft's corporate campus and analyzed it for conspiracies. I think it's funny, so shoot me.
