Wow, the New York Post talks about Channel9 and quotes my weblog.
Will Microsoft ever think journalists aren't important? Oh, that's something I'd love to talk with the BloggerCon about (Channel9's Lenn Pryor is attending BloggerCon, by the way, say hi to him -- I'll try to attend "virtually" because my son, mom, and brother will be here this weekend).
I don't think journalists become less important, but I think their role will change (and already has, because of blogs). Most people can't read 1400 blogs. Most, in fact, won't want to read 15. Most people will still want to get the important news of the day from journalists, whether on TV, in the newspaper (although I think distributing content on dead trees is a pretty inefficient way to do it), or on Radio or on the Web. But, the best journalists are definitely watching the blogs for stuff their readers might care about.
That's a shift and an important one.
Lora Heiny takes the Tablet PC team to task: "Time to think beyond vertical markets."
Funny, I just met the Tablet PC team yesterday and setup a Channel9 interview session (we'll be doing that next Friday). They have lots of stuff coming that'll make Tablet PCs much more mainstream. They showed me a new retail stand for the Tablet PCs (I'll get some pictures of that) which will make it a lot nicer to discover what's better about Tablet PCs. Coming soon to a retailer near you.
Thanks Arin for helping me setup interviews. I think that segment will really be special. I put it on the calendar for the first week of May. Please do send your questions in. We'll read the best ones on the air.
Jeremy Mazner, who is a Longhorn Evangelist (I just play one on TV, er Channel9) clears up a lot of the WinFS confusion. The interview I did with the WinFS team will clear up even more.
But, Jeremy's comments echo what I heard from the WinFS team.
