Another idea:
- Lotus 1-2-3 (IBM isn't using it anymore).

Recently I heard about a new protocol named XRPC. It's supposed to fix all the problems in XML-RPC. One problem it will create for XML-RPC is that if it catches on it will be confused with XML-RPC. I was going to suggest that they choose a different name, but if I did that Julian Bond would post a nasty comment about me on his weblog. Maybe with any luck if I post my ideas here, he won't be so nasty. Anyway, the rules are simple. Take any well established name and fiddle with the letters or order of the words and that could be the name of your new protocol. Here are some ideas.
- Hot Rod (derived from Red Hat).
- SP (dropped two letters from SOAP).
- SQL (dropped two letters from mySql).
- Up XML-RPC's Butt (added two words to XML-RPC).
I'm sure I'll think of some others.
Your friend,
Dave
