I have been buzzing along today on the IM log loading and posting tool I mentioned in previous posting.  The main engine is done, Murphy willing and providing I don't have to tweak the data model again.  Ran into some interesting issues with Radio's object database and how it indexes massive inserts.  Nothing that couldn't be overcome.  I spent this evening writing an algorithm that retrieves data in the order it was inserted into the database.  This is important when you are working with sequential or chronological data that doesn't have an index or some kind of time stamp.  Everything is now working smoothly.  The majority of my time today was spent unlearning relational database concepts and learning how to interact with the object database.  Now I have to figure out how to get data into this edit box to be posted to a blog.  10:23:50 PM   comments ()
