X-log

I may have even received a two-fer in all of this.  I put some more pieces together this evening to see if I could resurrect the dead server.  It almost worked.  Instead of installing Windows on it, I tried installing Linux.  I was able to install it but am having video issues again.  I have seen these video issues before.  X-windows does not like passing video signals through a KVM switch, or, more specifically, my KVM switch (a Belkin 4-port OmniCube).  I will try hooking up another monitor, keyboard, and mouse to the resurrected machine tomorrow to see if it works.  If it does, then I will have come out ahead on this deal with one whoop-ass Linux server.  12:53:19 AM   comments ()

The rebuilt server for Xlogs.net is back up.  I ran into some trouble installing IIS.  Everytime I tried to install IIS the damn thing blue screened on me.  I finally gave up and I am now running Apache instead.  The mail server is also back up, if anyone cares to email me, dsheridan@xlogs.net.  12:47:47 AM   comments ()
