system.verbs.builtins.radio.weblog.drawCalendar changed on Wed, 23 Jan 2002 00:43:07 GMT: Cache the calendar text for the dynamic home page. The dynamic home page calendar is now rendered a maximum of once per day. This accounts for as much as a 40% improvement in rendering speed for the desktop website home page. [Radio.root Updates]
Good news. This has certainly helped to reduce rendering time. Thanks Userland.

GraphicConverter X 4.1.2 (sic) [Versiontracker] is available today. Enhancements are numerous, including a new option to FTP upload files to a server, support for video grabber cards, and zooming up to 1000 percent. Be patient trying to download this update, if the last update is any indication. GraphicConverter is a very popular, lightweight image editing tool and FTP servers may be overloaded with download requests... [Mac Net Journal]
Indeed, the FTP servers are swamped. I got my copy from http://www.macupdate.com/download.php/gc421us.sit?id=263
What I like about GC - apart from its great features - is that my shareware payment is good for all updates in the future. I paid in the days of GC 3.x on Mac OS 8.x and my registration code was good for this OS X version too!
PS The version number is actually 4.2.1 despite what the link text says.

techno weenie | RFC > Common XML-RPC API for Weblogs
: "This is an RFC for a common XML-RPC interface for other weblogging applications. The Blogger and Manila interfaces are fine, but are written specifically for those two applications.
"
Interesting. Looks like Conversant's XML-RPC API could easily support the Common Weblogs API.
