802.11b networking has been on my radar so to speak ever since Apple's Airport was introduced, but I've become a lot more interested in the technology in the last couple weeks since we're looking at installing a few access points at work. My PowerBook is too old to support an Airport card, but at least there are open source drivers for Orinoco cards under MacOS X these days.

O'Reilly Network: The AltiVec Difference is a look at just how AltiVec processing works at the source code level. I hadn't had the chance to look at any AltiVec coding examples prior to this article so I found it especially interesting. Vector programming is actually quite elegant once you see how it works, especially if you understand linear algebra. I just wish I owned a computer with a G4 processor at this point.
