New CoolScan software from Nikon. MacCentral notes that Nikon released new scanning software for Mac OS X. [Mac Net Journal] Great news, except "The LS-2000 and Coolscan III/ LS-30 are NOT supported on Mac OS X." So I am stuck using my laptop to scan slides. 9:24:23 AM     Comment []

Human Demand Exceeds Earth's Sustainable Supply [Scientific American] This is downright scary. But, I am not sure which is worse, learning that in 1999 "the global population exhausted a supply of natural resources equivalent to that produced by 1.2 earths each year", or that the global population has consistently exceeded the world's sustainable productivity since the 1980's.
