Develop and test some alternate listings for the De Anza Faculty Directory. A year ago, a simple alphabetic listing was sufficent. Now with over 200 faculty sites in the Directory, I need to come up with something better.

The easy change would be to add alpha links and the ability to scroll through pages. I would also add the ability to change the view (showing more or less listings).

A potential downside is that the same sites will aways be at the top. And sites at the end of the alphabet will always require scrolling or multiple clicks to get to them.

Another thought would be to generate the list organized by the most recent updates. This way people who update their sites frequently will be found easier than people who don't. I am going to explore this one first.

Dave Winer is working on adding a news aggregator to Manila. This is something that I have wanted and a number of my clients have asked for. This is a big hole between UserLand's Radio and Manila products. I hope that it gets filled quickly.
