This just greeted me while trying to click through the recent quakes map to view information about specific aftershocks. The maps are still being served, but the database of quakes appears to be overwhelmed.
It is interesting to see how well these site hold up under the load.

Topozone appeared to be knocked off the net this morning by the strong earthquake in Central California. After the quake it was difficult to reach the site, with long delays and partial pages served. For a short time the site was reporting a server error and returning a simple table with error data.
The site appears to be back online now.
The USGS earthquake information pages link to TopoZone to show a page that plots the earthquakes epicenter on a topographic map.

I just felt a small earthquake in San Jose. No heavy shaking, it just seemed like the house was rolling very slightly. The swing chandelier confirmed that the house was moving.
Giving the way this felt. I am guessing we that there was a big earthquake that was some distance away.
I am checking out the USGS sites now and will report back when I have more info.
