I would second this wish, with the further hope that upgrades don't cause a loss of functionality. Over the weekend, I discovered that my recently upgraded G3 laptop (lombard), can no longer play DVD's. I could play DVD's on the machine running Mac OS 9.1 and Mac OS X 10.2. But the new 10.3 (panther) DVD Player doesn't recognize my DVD equipped G3 laptop as a viable machine.
Upgrades should enhance functionality, not degrade it.
