It amazes me that reporters continue to get this story wrong. Caltrain currently reaches speeds of 79 mph. It is the fastest transit system in the Bay Area. The reason that the Baby Bullets will go from SF to San Jose faster than anything else is that they will only make 4 stops on the route. Now, I am not complaining at all. If I were still commuting daily to SF, I would take the Baby Bullet.
But the current trains are just as fast, they just make more stops. Bay Area Vapid Transit is a distant third.
