Of course, the pessimists answer to that song is "You can't always get what you want." Where's Alda?: " I just noticed something weird about the picture of the cast on The West Wing on their website. The Democrat candidate played by Jimmy Smits is included in the picture, but the Republican candidate played by Alan Alda is not. What the hell does that mean? (Via Scripting News.) It means quite simply that the West Wing is delusional in thinking that a clear-thinking, hispanic from Texas could be elected to president. As I watch the program, I realize, what a fantasy, a government that cares for the people that it governs. Instead, we have a government that scares people and divides the nation into red and blue. They must be working toward that divide, because we couldn't do on our own. We have too much in common. Not sure when anyone else is going to understand this.
