west wing I admit it, I'm a "West Wing" fanatic. I didn't like last night's premier. It feels as if they are building up an artificial firestorm from which the only solution is to have Bartlett buck up his courage, take back the office and ride his white horse into the fray, possibly sacrificing his daughter along the way. Yeah, it sets up some interesting friction between him and his wife. The episode has some nice dramatic moments, mostly with the Bartlett family, and Toby's new fatherhood ("they come with hats"). But it mostly lacks the deft touch that characterized the earlier episodes.
It's almost as if Sorkin decided to write up a mess to see how the new
writers would deal with it. |
