I've got an idea for an accessibility app to help the colorblind.

What I'm thinking of is an 'eyedropper' type tool that when clicked at an pixel on the screen, would place a tool tip pop up next to the cursor with a text description of the color... Blue, Green, Red, Pink, Grey, etc. It doesn't have to be specific--I wouldn't know what aquamarine was if I fell in it, But I sure wouldn't mind knowing if I accidentally colored my sky green, or made my HTML links pink.

Bonus points if it can average the color values in user specifiable area of x number of pixels around the cursor and report the overall color value of the area.

If there are any OS X developers out there with too much time on their hands, knowledge of OS X, and a desire to help a poor, colorblind, amateur photographer, please email me!  6:20:07 PM  permalink   Add a comment
