Stupidist thing I've heard on TV today: "...and if anyone were able to survive being trapped in a mine shaft for 72 hours, it would be a miner."  7:33:00 PM  permalink   Add a comment

129 hits today from a Google search for "apple switch parody", and I'm not even on the first page of results. Don't tell me that advertising campaign isn't effective.  7:09:41 PM  permalink   Add a comment

The Digital camera resource page has posted a review of the Nike Coolpix 5700. It sounds like a generally spiffy camera, with a very nice 8x zoom and good picture quality, but I'll stick with my Sony F707, and here's why:

DCRP Review: Nikon Coolpix 5700: "Sony DSC-F707: Another close one. The 5700 has a longer zoom range, but the Sony's laser focusing system and great photo quality make this one a tough choice. The F707's lens is also "faster", with an aperture range of F2.0-F2.4, meaning it collects a lot more light than the Nikon"

A faster lens will always beat a longer one in one in my book. Another plus for the sony is the intelligent battery, which seems to last forever. I've used my camera for days without having to recharge the battery, something I've never seen in any other digicam.  7:04:44 PM  permalink   Add a comment
