Rogi: the video vigilante: ""The following is a list of Oklahoma City Police case numbers associated to videos I have personally turned in. This list is not complete (I'm still going through my files). I will be updating this list with the current disposition of each individual case. It will be interesting to see how many were found guilty and how many were let go." Deeply, deeply weird-o-rama. Posted by Rogi at January 23, 2002 11:36 PM

Comments: That guy's going to get himself killed one day. What a fuckwit!"

psychopathy at play and the counter-play of a plague ridden mind. weblogging's fascinating in how you get to add texture to your 'common book'.. much richer than bloody bookmarks!

Seminar: Gedächtnis und Design i love this german ability to clearly utilize and leverage things (thoughts/concepts are things!) which would get sold all mushy and repulsively in this country.

perhaps on my own personal journey, i can, with my dad finally out of his misery, drink again from that well. who'd have thought. interesting.

Poll: Bush Admin. Hiding Something, say almost two thirds of respondents. But will it change the Administration's approval ratings in the face of the effective pressure for sheeplike loyalty? yahoo! [Follow Me Here]

ok, so there is a sense of something wrong.. but without a consciousness that makes it ok to complain, to make changes, to think from the bottom up.. and the top down.. nothing will be done.  watch the plague in action as the years go on.  Wilhelm Reich's "Mass psychology of fascism" (required reading if you are german) is an excellent guide to the current times.

How to seem smarter -- 'The goal behind this painless four-step plan is to seem smarter without having to read any books, listen to classical music, or depend on crutches like word-of-the-day toilet paper. By making a few minor modifications to your behavior, you will give the impression to those around you that you are smarter--not only smarter than you were before, but, more importantly, smarter than they are.' ReadyMade [Follow Me Here]

didnt we just have a link of the upward sucking sound of psychopathy? well.. here's "psychopathy encouraged' for you... the lostness of souls 'up there, above the fray, unequal and different' is not helped by figures such as gi-joe.. or ideas that behaviour is everything. its not. its inner attitude, aligning to reality, that gets you out of the tower (yes, think psychopathy == tarot tower; what's it to you that i'm a wizz at metaphysics, makes me no different)

The Urge to Punish Cheats: Not Just Human, but Selfless. 'In the ferocity of the public outcry, and the demand from even those with no personal stake in the Enron collapse that "justice" be done, some scientists see a vivid example of humanity's evolved and deep-seated hatred of the Cheat. The Cheat is the transgressor of fair play, the violator of accepted norms, the sneak who smiles with Chiclet teeth while ladling from the community till.' NY Times   [Follow Me Here]

i love tit-for-tat studies!  this one's actually something my sister has been able to use to stand up for herself. others too, i suppose. .. now that is reason in service of reality.  did i mention i love tit-for-tat studies?

E. Fuller Torrey, MD: The year neurology almost took over psychiatry:

In December 1880, the emerging profession of neurology almost absorbed psychiatry, which had established itself four decades earlier. The final confrontation was the culmination of an extremely bitter three-year battle, and the outcome was very much in doubt as representatives of each side prepared to testify before the New York State Senate Investigative Committee on Asylum Management. One possible outcome would be the recommendation that neurologists be given administrative control of the state asylums and, effectively, of psychiatry. Other states watched New York's battle closely and seemed likely to follow its lead. [Follow Me Here]

note to self.. mine for analogies/quotes. reason's got a long history of trying to undermine reality and what's studying another example of that :)

The Hidden Suffering of the Psychopath: '... the psychopath has the image of a cold, heartless, inhuman being. But do all psychopaths show a complete lack of normal emotional capacities and empathy? Like healthy people, many psychopaths love their parents, spouse, children and pets in their own way, but have difficulty loving and trusting the rest of the world. Furthermore, psychopaths do suffer emotionally as a consequence of separation, divorce, death of a beloved person or dissatisfaction with their own deviant behavior.' Psychiatric Times [Follow Me Here]

psychopathy is all about 'power over', 'rising above'.. its a dangerous thing to start doing as once you're 'up there, above them' you know you're alone.  'rising above' is the single biggest killer of integrity and authenticity.. for as long as the tendency is not understood by the experiencer. it's damn hard to train the inflation/deflation cyclce out of our experience and its an energetic phenomena. taking mellow-makers wont help ya pal. the problem's in the inability to stick with softness. more or less.

my culture taught me how to navigate through signs like these. 'twas great bull-busting training
you are on the main road but your prefered direction is to make a left turn. yield when turning even if the light is green -- e.g. drive carefully :)

navigationlinks

<item name="BizBuzz" pagename="/categories/bizBuzz/"/>  works

 <item name="BizBuzz" pagename="/categories/bizBuzz"/>  does not work

its the trailing backslash.

conclusion..  currently you/i need to add trailing backslashes to identify directories so that drawNavigatorLinks gets the match and bolds instead of formatting the link-item.  i'd like to leave the slashes off.

Matthew Trump's Should-I-Buy-Radio Weblog the paradigm is that radios send and receive. news aggregation will transform the way we think about browsing, before ms can embreak and exbend it. oops, embrace and extend. .. as is i can aggregate and republish elsewhere - automagically.  data-pumping, workflow, its all easily built using the built-in feelers this thing can stick elsewhere.

Chris In Michigan: "Radio Userland is a platform for applications that use resources on the internet, just as Windows and MacOS and Linux etc. are platforms for applications that use resources on a desktop computer. Just as Windows comes with a calculator and a simple word processor and built-in printer support, RU8 comes with a news aggregator and a complex editor and a weblog-oriented database and upstreaming. The UserLand crowd is trying to sell Radio with its built-in blogging application, and while it's no doubt a kickass application, and it shows the essense of what RU 8 is capable of, it's not by any means all of what RU8 is."

yes.  radio is all that. its all in place to bring life to rss. without the rss meme there would be nothing much to distinguish radio .. which people will soon realize receives as well as it sends; can be given new antennas with Mark's scraper.. and which will undoutedly see an integrated web-based email client before april 1st.  .. missing from the meme. from the engine is the notion of trusted relationships. its all too easy to scrape confidential data and flow that into public places.. but for a v0.802, its really handy!

updated <%weblogdata.m.drawCalendar("")%> to ommit dates for which no items are rendered under the current weblog's root. (i'll need to tweak it again when i deal with posting a subcategory to the category now hosted at my isp. but this round finalizes the calendar for items under the main log and single categories off-site afaik)
