had a hitchhiker yesterday. picked him up in the rain, half a mile north of where his vehicle had run out of gas. i take him 10 mi to the next gas-station. we talk. he'd dismissed the thought of getting gas. then he ran out.
i report this because experiences like this bring thoughts into focus not as volitional, but in their role as carriers of reports on inner states. i've made mistakes like this guy many times. i push away a thought that proves to be essential.. i close my eyes to swiftly moving pictures that inform me of what's about to happen.. and blammo, i run my head into a wall. I think this happens to all of us and that it is how the sub- and un- conscious in us bleed through (or are used by) the ego consciousness.
I find these articles fascinating yet uninspired. Why can't these people bridge to Chopra? These larger integrations are not rocket-science and are bound to net better science.
