The problem with the way security operations are being done now is that so much time is being spent on 'false positives'. Simply because someone (not an officer) did not like the way someone else looked or acted, everyone becomes suspicious. Officials will eventually become immune to these sorts of requests, just as people turn off fire alarms because they are too sensitive and always going off. Then, when the fire does come, no one is warned.
A top down approach will have problems, because the number of non-terrorists is almost infinitely greater than the terrorist number. It adds tremendously to the costs without necessarily providing commensurate security 12:36:02 PM

You may have to forgive me some of my more strident comments the last day or so. I learned that a college friend of mine had just died and I was not in a very good mood to begin with. So my impressive ability to stay logical may have wavered a little. {smile}
