Great. The voting software that will be used by many states has more holes in it than windows. And it sounds like the company is not too happy that some people have actually examined its flaws. Their responses are not ones of shock that flaws were founf and thanks for the researchers but boilerplate legalese about how they have fixed lots of them. Voting software should be OPen,allowing any American to examine it. We do not want to leave our democracy in the hands of a coporate system that WILL allow these flaws to be exploited. 9:06:52 PM

Congress Misses The Big Picture On War With Iraq... (Jules Witcover). Congress Misses The Big Picture On War With Iraq... (Jules Witcover) [Common Dreams]
The historical moment was the devising of a new rationale for war - the government could attack another country simply because it thought that country might pose a threat sometime in the future. The really dangerous aspect is that we now know that the government does not need the strongest evidence to buttress their thinking. It would seem that this policy allows the US to attack anyone we chose anytime we chose, simply because we want to. Congress has totally abdicated its ability to rein in the Executive branch. This path leads to Empire and to Caesars. As a democrat and republican (in their non-capitalized forms), I hope we still have time to change the path. 11:31:00 AM
