Titan 2 Launches Weather Satellite

Amazing. For those who don't remember, the Titan 2 was the rocket which launched the Gemini 2-man spacecraft in the 1960s! The first Gemini flight was in the spring of 1964, 28 years ago! It was originally built as an ICBM, an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, designed to drop bombs on the USSR. This is a "refurbished" unit, so I guess it was retired from its former purpose. Nice to see an example of this swords into plowshares, and I hope there are more. It's too bad that we don't seem to be able to build new rockets like this. Speaking of which, I just remembered an old story about NASA having lost the plans to the mammoth Saturn V which carried men to the moon. I wonder if that's true...
